Animal Experiences In Keswick

Thinks To Do In Keswick, Lake District

Why Alpacaly Ever After Offers The Best Animal Experience In Keswick

Animal experiences in Keswick have become one of the most popular reasons people visit the area, alongside the mountains, lakes and spectacular scenery.

People travel from all over the world to climb Catbells, sail across Derwentwater and explore the heart of the Lake District.

What many visitors don’t expect to find is Tripadvisor’s No.1 Rated Attraction.

That’s us.

When Emma and I started Alpacaly Ever After, we never set out to build a tourist attraction.

We simply wanted to give alpacas and llamas a second chance.

What started as a small rescue centre has grown into an award-winning social enterprise and one of the most popular animal experiences in Keswick.

For the last eight years, visitors have helped make us Tripadvisor’s No.1 Rated Attraction in the Lake District. That’s something we’re incredibly proud of, especially when you consider the world-famous attractions we’re competing against.

Meet The Alpacas At Lingholm Estate And Basecamp North Lakes

Not everyone wants to head into the mountains.

That’s exactly why we created our Meet The Alpacas experiences.

At Lingholm Estate in Keswick, you’ll spend time with the herd in one of the most beautiful settings in the Lake District. Derwentwater stretches out below and the fells rise all around you.

At Basecamp North Lakes, just outside Penrith, you’ll meet even more of our woolly army while enjoying our award-winning farm shop, café and rescue centre.

Many visitors arrive expecting to spend 45 minutes with a few alpacas.

What they don’t expect is how quickly they start picking favourites.

Some become obsessed with Rodney.

Others ask about Ziggy.

Many return months or even years later asking how their favourite alpaca is getting on.

Walk Alpacas In Keswick

If you’re looking for animal experiences in Keswick, our alpaca walks are where many adventures begin.

Taking place at the beautiful Lingholm Estate on the shores of Derwentwater, these walks combine stunning scenery, friendly alpacas and plenty of laughs. The views are incredible. The alpacas are unforgettable. One minute they’re posing perfectly for photographs. The next they’re stopping to inspect a particularly interesting patch of grass. No two walks are ever quite the same. That’s part of the fun.

Llama & Alpaca Treks Through Whinlatter Forest

Looking for something a little more adventurous? Our llama treks take place in Whinlatter Forest, England’s only true mountain forest. Waterfalls. Forest trails. Mountain views. And a rescued llama walking beside you. It’s one of the most unique days out in Keswick and a completely different way to experience the Lake District. Many visitors tell us it’s the highlight of their holiday.

Why Visitors Choose Us?

Let’s be honest. Nobody comes to the Lake District dreaming about spending another day staring at a screen. People come here for adventure. For fresh air. For mountains, forests and places that make you stop and look around. That’s exactly what we try to offer.

One day you could be walking beside Derwentwater with an alpaca at Lingholm Estate. The next you could be trekking through Whinlatter Forest with a llama, crossing streams and exploring mountain trails. Or you could be meeting the rest of our woolly army at Basecamp North Lakes before enjoying lunch in the café or exploring the farm shop.

Every location offers something different. Every animal has its own personality. Every visit creates a different story. That’s why so many visitors return again and again. Not because they’re collecting attractions. Because they’re collecting memories.

One year they’re introducing their children to alpacas. A few years later they’re returning with grandparents. Some visitors have walked the same alpaca so many times they’ve become part of the extended Alpacaly family.

Family Friendly Experiences In Keswick

Why We’re Tripadvisor’s No.1 Rated Attraction

People often ask what makes us different. The honest answer is that it’s not one thing. It’s the animals. It’s the locations. It’s the team. It’s the rescue stories.

It’s the fact that every booking helps us provide the very best care for the animals that call Alpacaly Ever After home. We’re incredibly lucky to have some of the most loyal visitors imaginable.

Families return year after year. Children grow up walking the same alpacas. Visitors send us messages asking how their favourites are doing.

Some know the herd almost as well as we do. As proud as I am of the awards, the rankings and the recognition, what means the most to me are the memories people create here. That’s what this place has always been about. Everything we do is built around giving our animals the very best life possible. Every booking helps us continue that work.

Thank You

One thing that never stops amazing me is how loyal our visitors are. Many return year after year. Some have been visiting us for nearly a decade. Some know the alpacas and llamas by name. Some check in regularly to see how their favourites are getting on.

For a rescue centre that started with a simple goal of helping animals, that’s something I’ll never take for granted. To everyone who has visited, supported us, left a review, shared a photograph or recommended us to a friend.

Thank you.

You have helped us build something very special.
