This activity offers some very lucky people indeed the opportunity to take part in wonderful alpaca walks around the stunning grounds of the Lingholm Estate, on the shores of Derwent Water

Walk With Alpacas at The Lingholm Estate

And so it was once upon a time when The Lingholm Estate was the perfect place to live alpacaly ever after! Situated on the Western Shore of Derwentwater in a dramatic location, it is surrounded by incredible views of some of the best loved Lakeland fells.

Stroll at super relaxed alpaca pace through the private grounds of the estate where Beatrix Potter spent many summers. Get to know our wonderful alpacas up close while they snack along the way, take them for a paddle in the lake, meet the herd, take part in feeding time and ask as many questions as you can think of!

As a Non-Profit Social Enterprise all the income from our activities goes back into supporting the work we do re-homing and rescuing alpacas and llamas, and providing free and subsidised activities for third sector organisations! For more information about the work we do have a look here

The Walled Garden

The Octagonal walled garden sits on the same spot as the old Lingholm Kitchen gardens which Beatrix Potter credited as her inspiration for Mr McGregor’s garden in The Tale of Peter Rabbit.

Built in a Victorian style using over 75,000 reclaimed red bricks and capped with local sandstone the garden has herbaceous borders while it’s central areas are for vegetable production that is then served fresh daily in the Kitchen.

What an amazing experience, I would recommend this to anyone, young, old, fit, unfit just try it. It was everything I was hoping and more!
