Alpacas and llamas are wonderful animals to spend time with. They work particularly well with children and vulnerable adults due to their calm, curious nature, individual and humorous personalities and of course their appealing appearance!

We have several activities suitable for people with mental and physical disabilities, our Private Alpaca Walks at The Lingholm Estate are a flat gentle stroll through private grounds which can be adapted to suit all abilities/mobilities including wheel chair users. We also have Meet The Alpacas sessions which last 40 minutes where you get to hand feed the herd and interact with them on their home fields. Please see below for ‘What to Expect’ for each activity :)

If you have any questions regarding requirements, the inclusion of carers, if you need assistance in accessing information or making a booking then please feel free to get in touch at [email protected] or call 017687 78328 (Mon – Fri 9.30am – 5.30pm).

If you are planning to visit with a charity or other third sector organisation we offer subsidised experiences upon request so again just get in touch!

Our activities

Some of our activities, due to their elevation and terrain are only suitable for people with appropriate fitness and mobility. Our herd & activities are also spread across several different locations, and as a result facilities and access can vary with each site, this is due to our model being in partnership with existing sites as opposed to having our own location open to the public – something which we hope to establish in the near future!

Featured below is a list of what to expect with each of our activities suitable for those with disabilities. Our aim is to be inclusive as possible and we are always looking to improve so if you have anything you’d like to discuss with us don’t hesitate to get in touch at [email protected]

What an amazing experience, I would recommend this to anyone, young, old, fit, unfit just try it. It was everything I was hoping and more!
