From Merseyside to Lakeside…welcoming Y.A.R.S back again :)

Y.A.R.S have been to visit us before and they loved it so much they came back for more… Giving back, thanks to you this is what we can do to help support our community and fulfil our social aims.

Y.A.R.S or Young Adults Respite Services are based in Merseyside and this is what they do… The aim of the project is to offer a service in the community and group (8 – 12 people) residential breaks to Merseyside young disabled adults (aged 16 – 30). To have a service that is specific for young disabled adults, a group usually caught in-between children and adult services.

The organisation was set up because we used to run disability projects in Knowsley for disabled children and young people. Parents asked if we would set up a service that worked with their children when they became adults. Whilst the service will work with up to 25 every one of their young adults have been aged 17 – 25. Tom and some of his crew had this to say about their visit…

”Young Adult Respite Service CIC (YARS) has been extremely fortunate to visit the amazing Alpacaly Ever After with many of our disabled young adults, from the initial booking right through to spending time with these amazing animals, we have always found their staff very welcoming and accommodating with our cohort. Our disabled young adults absolutely love visiting Alpacaly Ever After, it is so relaxing and therapeutic and the positive transformation with individuals mental and physical wellbeing when around these beautiful animals is incredible. I highly recommend Alpacaly Ever After to everyone and we are grateful to have developed a relationship with them.” T.R

I love visiting Alpacaly Ever After because the alpacas are so cute, cuddly and warm, they make me feel happy when I feed them. My favourite is Caramel.   S.R

I had never seen an alpaca before visiting Alpacaly Ever After, Ruby’s knowledge of these animals is exceptional and she makes the group feel at ease and provides a great insight into their world.   L.M
