Meet Ste…

Ste started with us in summer 2019 and he walks, talks and breathes alpaca’s, he’s even got the tattoo to prove it! Ste is a firm favourite with our Lingholm alpacas and he’s Billy’s best mate. He is a Mancunian grafter, always early, always organised and loves a good chat with all our walkers :)

Greetings troops, I’m Ste, formerly known as Stevie but we have too many Alpacas called that so I have been relegated!

Pre-Alpacaly Ever After I spent 8 years in Dubai working in the corporate world and visited Alpacaly in March 2019 on holiday. I loved it so much I never left and I have loved every second of it since. The team is so small and tight knit and is the best work environment I have been in.

I love meeting our guests but I especially enjoy rescuing our animals and getting them back to full health and seeing how they flourish.

Billy and Rosie are my personal favourites. They are just so weird and unique and a joy to be around. I have a Ziggy tattoo as he was the first Alpaca I ever met and will be getting Billy added soon!

Outside of work I play rugby, skateboard and surf when I can get away. In 2020 I became a dad and we take our son out on adventures around The Lakes and with our amazing animals whenever we can.

Another thing I am passionate about is raising money and awareness for mental health services. Having close experiences with those suffering its something I take seriously. I climbed Ben Nevis in June 2020 carrying 30kg of slate and a 20kg log. On the slate were the names of friends who lost their struggle. This was then built into a cairn at the summit in their honour. This was in aid of a fantastic charity, Rock2Recovery who have helped out some of my closest friends.

“Ste was an absolute legend, not only did we have a great conversation with views to kill for around the estate gardens and the lake shore with the 2 alpacas but he also took some incredible photos that my fiance is now probably making into a wallpaper or t-shirt print as we speak! The 2 alpacas we walked with, Dudley and Inka were great fun and I may now be developing an obsession of my own….”

“We had THE best time on our walk today with Billy and Jebediha they were just brilliant. Our guide was Ste who was absolutely fantastic, really friendly and knowledgeable, he made us feel so welcome and relaxed we couldn’t have hoped for better. Would highly recommend this to anyone it’s a fantastic way to spend an afternoon! Thank you guys for making it so great!”

“After coming up to the Lakes for a number of years I was looking for something different to do and I’m so glad I found Alpacaly Ever After. I booked a private walk for me and my Mum and after an initial group briefing we were handed our alpacas Jasper & Danny. Ste, our guide, was a great source of knowledge and had a really calm nature plus he took some great pictures which were sent over straight after. Everything was very well organised and safe and they gave a full briefing before. I’d really recommend doing this and for the little extra money I’d definitely suggest a private walk. Already want to do it again next year.”

“Second time at Alpacaly Ever After and this one definitely topped the first time! Ste was such a great guide and made our experience, he was really friendly and knew all about the woolly army! Popeye, Jarrah and Rupert were the best walking companions, we all felt very chilled after our walk and we all want to do it again next year! All the guidelines were in place without affecting the enjoyment of the experience. Thank You to Ste ⭐️, Popeye, Jarrah and little Rupert for such an amazing afternoon :) We then went for coffee and cake afterwards in the Lingholm cafe which was really nice too x”
